Ophthalamia is a black metal side-project ring featuring vocalist Legion (Baal Merodach), guitar player It (Abruptum, Vondur), bassist Night (Swordmaster), and drummer Winter (Edge of Sanity). After debuting on the Avantgarde label with A Journey in Darkness, the group switched to Century Black for 1996's Via Dolorosa. The following year, Ophthalamia issued a re-recorded Travel in Darkness under the title A Long Journey; Territorial dominion followed in 1998.
