Chicago's Gorgasm arose from the remnants of another local band, Crematorium when guitarists Tom Leski and Tom Tangalos coupled forces with bassist Russ Powell and drummer Derek Hoffman in 1994. A six-song demonstration showcasing their single-minded ferociousness and amazing amphetamine emerged two years after, and a full record album, sensitively named Stabwound Intercourse, followed in 1998.
