Director Reveals Secret Of Car Park Waterfall Stunt

Moviemaker ERIC BREVIG has exploded the myth about a pivotal scene in his upcoming JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH remake that it was shot using a cheap "slip-and-slide" in a parking lot.

Thanks to clever filmmaking and technology, movie fans will see Brendan Fraser drop down a huge waterfall in the film, when in fact the scene was shot at night in a car park.

Brevig reveals, "We couldn't afford to build an actual waterfall set so, out of desperation, we had a slip-and-slide built outside in the parking lot at night.

"It's basically a 50-foot table covered in black plastic with fire hoses shooting down at it, and we're dragging the actors with ropes attached to them by their feet.

"A lot of the film was like this - really expensive student filmmaking - because I had to solve a lot of problems the way I used to in college. Here we are making this big movie but we can't afford to do what I want to, so how could I solve it for $1.95?"
